Today I finally worked on Christmas card, so I will be able to mail it on time(maybe?) I used Shutterfly. Shutterfly is an amazing company than I often use to print pictures make photo album and cards. If you have a chance check it out.
Canvases-Did a spelled it right? I will ask my husband when he gets back home. Anyway I saw at Michael's a pack of canvas(7)on sale and even if I had no clue what to do with it I had to grab it. That's what happen when I go to craft store I get this buying impulse and I can't stop myself.......... I decided to make hair bow holders considering I have two girls and a lot of hair accessories laying around the house. And I think they can also be used as pictures or notes holder. If you are curious to know how to make it this is the instructions: 1)put on top of the canvas a layer of batting and the fabric of your choice 2)staple the fabric on the back pulling thigh 3)create your design with ribbons or trim and staple on the back 4)with hot glue attach some embellish 5)sew-by hand- a piece of the same fabric on the back for a clean look(optional)
I have been gone for so long that I almost forgot how to blog. Our trip to Italy was amazing(I will post some picture soon) and after we come back we moved. What a crazy time! Finally my computer and my hard drive are in the same room so I can share something with you. This is a set of wrist cuffs I made for my sister and I am happy she loved them, but now I have a list of wrist cuff to make for her friends( if I only can find my sewing machine between all of these boxes)
Finally the time has come. We are going to Italy for a vacation and I can see my family after long long time. So I will take a break from blogging and I will enjoy my vacation as much as I can. So I leave you with a picture of my two favorite girls my daughters Sophia and Isabelle.
After Sophia official birthday party, I had to come up with something for her school. There was no doubt in my mind I had to do cupcakes, kids love cupcakes and especially the frosting. So I got some ideas from internet, google is my favorite inspiration tool! I baked 25 cupcake, frost them and decorated them with this crepe paper dress. Everyone was amazing by such of simple project!
My daughter Sophia is 5 today. So we decided to have a birthday party on Saturday, a Fancy Nancy Tea Party! We had so much fun and the weather was incredible so we were able to have the party outside in the yard ( that made cleaning way easier!). I tried to prepare everything ahead of time but like always I found myself rush and get everything together in 4 days, will I ever learn? Anyway, because birthday can be very expensive and she only 5 I tried to keep it in a budget and make it everything myself(cheap but a lot of work)cake,food,party-favor,.... She had fun and that's all it matters. Isn't she beautiful?
Jewelery it is something I always being passionate about. I just did not know how easy is to create your ow piece. I am not that good at it yet, I need more time to learn and more time to create but I will get there. I love necklaces, fabric flowers, headbands and cuffs..... Also I love the neovictorian steampunk style and that what I was looking as inspiration when I was working on this piece. All the material I used can be found at Michaels (I do not have antique shops or other cool stuff around).
Hello everyone , how are you today? Recently I have been so busy with my house that I had barely time for what I like to do most. And all the project I started they are waiting to be finish so my list of things to do. This is the n1 in my list: two tulle hanger I made for a friend of mine, she has two beautiful girls and she asked me for two hanger to put in their bedroom. I used two simple plastic hanger and wrap them with small pieces of tulle. It is a time consuming project but very cute.
I don't know about you but I have very hard time when I need to trow away fabrics. I fall in love with it when I buy it and after I use the fabric for a project I have all of these small pieces left. What to do with it? I try to trow it away instead of cluttering my craft room, but I can't so they end up in a basket than get fuller week after week. And I swear I go trough that basket so often trying to make it less messy but it does not work
Than I decided to make a blanket with all of those small pieces, and that was a good idea at first but than it took way longer than what I originally expected. Months later I have all my precious pieces in a blanket and in the basket got full again.............
I wanted to have a cupcake and craft nigh from long time and I was finally able to get everyone together last week. We made a little box with four card and envelope and of course we had wine and cupcakes. This is a simple project everyone can do and it can be a nice present. We hope to get together once at month and do something crafty, even if sometimes with our husband being in the military is very challenging. Next time I have to remember to take picture of the other ladies project.
It has being so long since I posted last! So many things happened the last month: my husband finally come back home from school, my mom visited us and the pastry business took a lot of my time. But even if I did not post anything I still made a lot of things especially while my mom was here. She is very good on sewing so I took advantage of her, I wish I have her skills or at least she could live close by instead of another country. This top was the first project we work on(and the easiest one). I will attempt on making one again alone as soon as I can.
I did it, I posted some of my ruffled scarfs on my etsy shop. This week I worked very hard to be able to finish four of them and of course I completely neglected my house. Anyway they are finish and I am very pleased with the final project. Tell me what you think.
Awhile ago I meet a sweet lady at a sewing classes and she liked so much my scarf she asked me to make one for her. So this is my first order for my product and it is exiting. For some reason when I hear people like my creations make me feel good..... Is just me or everyone like to hear compliments on their creativity?
I can finally show you the present I made for my sister for Christmas. I love ruffle, it just give a touch of romanticism to anything. So after looking a lot of ideas of scarf I decided to make my own pattern and add a lot of beads and fabric flowers .... and this is the result.
Today I want to show you an angel I made for my sister in law. I got the pattern from the book sew sunny homestyle. I recommend this book to anybody. The pattern do not need to be adjusted and every project is absolutely beautiful. I love this angel I just wish I have more time to make few more of the projects on the book......
