Canvas
I felt in love with canvas project. I saw them in a lot of magazine and I found it fascinating. So I decided to make two for my in-laws for Christmas. I designed a scrapbook page and put in a canvas so it can be display in a wall and not only inside an album. It took a day to have the project done from start to finish, it was ready just in time for us to leave.
I will definitely make few for myself in the near future.

Biscotti
This was a very busy week, my husband was out of town and our two girls were all for myself. It was the perfect week to make cookies too. I told my neighbor I was going to make cookies for her church but I was not expecting it was going to be the week my husband was not at home. Somehow I managed to make 100 cookies and wrap them all.
These are Italian biscotti. Biscotti in Italian is a term for all types of cookies; the ones in the US which are called biscotti are actually called "tarallucci' in Italy. So if you are taking a trip to Italy any time soon do not ask for biscotti thinking they are the kind in the US, because you will get a plate of cookies instead of the tarallucci you are actually wanting.

Altered bags
My mom came all the way from Italy to visit us and his new granddaughter, we had a lot of fun together and she loved so much my altered "Trader Joe" bags than I had to made a couple for her to take back home. She is going to keep one and fill the other with food and wine and give it as a present. I think I will copy her idea and do the same, it will be a cute Christmas basket.

Paper bag album
I always loved to make paper bag album out of lunch bags. It is amazing to be able to create a full album with some brown bags. In this one I wanted to do something with a nostalgic look, I love things than remind me the past . That's why I chose this color scheme for my project and I saw almost all pages with the sew machine. I wanted to stamp on the pages but I noticed too late that the paper I chose was pearled and the ink didn't work on it. I also used lace and ribbons I found around than were left from other project.

Usually Saturday and Sunday are the two days I can start and finish my project. My husband is at home and can watch the girls wile I play with my crafts. So this week end I altered this bag for wine we bought at Trader's Joe. So next time I will go there I can use my cute bag. I'm planning to make my own grocery bags next.

Tutus
This Saturday I participate at a local craft fair and I made this tutus dress for the event. It was a lot of work cutting all this fabric, but I like the results. The part I enjoyed most was making the flowers. I love fabric roses and they are back in style again.
I also made one of this for my older daughter for a photographic set in DC last week, she looked like a princess.

Pillows
Today I was trying to organize my fabric stack and I found this old sheet that my grandma gave me before I left Italy. Some part of the sheet was damage but the border still in a good condition.
So I left my cleaning project were it started and I made two pillows to put on the bed.
I'm very happy with the results but my craft room is still a disaster, I'll try to clean tomorrow.

How to dance in the rain
A friend of mine sent me this beautiful story and I want to share(thank you Laura)
How to Dance in the Rain
It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an
elderly gentleman in his
80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was
in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am
I took his vital signs and had him take a seat,
knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see
him.
I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was
not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam,
it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed
supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had a doctor's
appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry.
The gentleman told me no that he needed to go
to the nursing home
to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as
to her health.
He told me that she had been there for a while
and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.
As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if
he was a bit late.
He replied that she no longer knew who he was,
that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him, And you
still go every morning,
even though she doesn't know who you are?'
He smiled as he patted my hand and said,
'She doesn't know me, but I still know
who she is.'
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had
goose bumps on my arm, and thought,
'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'
True love is neither physical, nor romantic.
True love is an acceptance of all that is, has
been, will be, and will not be.
With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails,
sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important
message. This one I thought I could share with you.
The happiest people don't necessarily have
the best of everything;
they just make the best of everything they have.
I hope you share this with someone you care about.
I just did.
'Life isn't about how to survive the
storm, but how to dance in the rain.'
